Halitube Promotes Back to School with Halifax Shopping Centre

HSC wants to attract more international students.

Halifax Shopping Centre reached out to Haltitube to create a campaign to welcome students back to Halifax. In September 2019, we aimed to attract students to HSC and to increase the shopping centre’s reach into diverse communities.

 

Design

We made a full Back to School season campaign for the Halifax Shopping Centre.

Production

We have produced one Halitube episode to showcase a unique way to shop and experience in the mall.

Community

After showcasing our unique way to shop and discover the mall, we also give back to the community, with gifts from the HSC.

What We Did


Instagram Voting Campaign

Halitube created the "Instagram Control My Day" Campaign

We announced a series of Instagram-voting posts. Participants voted in the poll, choosing which stores and shopping activities they wanted to take part in. In the voting, shoppers choose what they would eat in the food court and what they were going to wear back to school. After 15 mins, the results of each vote were announced. Campaign participants took part in the activity that won the vote. 

Participating Chinese audiences attracted by the Halitube campaign received a $5 gift card at the HSC customer service desk. Supply was limited.

We produced one episode on Halitube to show the Chinese students participating in the campaign at HSC. One article was produced on the WeChat platform to promote the campaign WeChat in-time reposting Instagram stories.

Everything is content.

For this campaign with the Halifax Shopping Centre, we have developed a chain and series of content, including:

  • 1 Episode of Halitube

  • 1 WeChat article highlighting vendors and businesses that were featured in this episode

  • Over 2 dozen Instagram stories

  • WeChat timeline posts featuring behind-the-scenes of this production

  • Behind the scene photography

  • A poster to promote the FREE $5 gift card for all Halitube students followers.

The Result


Halitube has helped attracted more International students to the HSC

  • The campaign received good traction on social media channels and Halitube YouTube Channel

  • There are 10,000  impressions from various platforms, including Instagram, WeChat, Weibo and Facebook.

  • 220 Interactions from all platforms

  • Covered over 70% of the Chinese community in Halifax
