Halitube Promotes Lunar New Year w/ Halifax Shopping Centre in 2020

A second Lunar New Year collaboration with Halitube.

After the first successful campaign, HSC reached out to Halitube again to create the 2020  LNY collaboration to celebrate this important festival on the Asian calendar.  Lunar New Year occurred before pandemic lockdowns began in March of 2020. The goal was to expand and deepen the relationship with a community of diverse shoppers.

 

Design

After the 1st successful Lunar New Year campaign with the Halifax Shopping Centre, we are excited to bring back this campaign again.

Production

We use the power of digital content, to present, deliver and highlight businesses for our audiences.

Community

We celebrate Lunar New Year, one of the biggest festivals in Asian culture, with the biggest shopping mall in Atlantic Canada.

What We Did


2020 Theme: A Lunar New Year Look

We invited young Asian guests to HSC to spend the day shopping and building their look for LNY celebrations and parties. These events included going out with friends at night, a light dinner, and visiting family and friends. Everything was purchased and sampled from HSC vendors.

There was a gift card program featuring:

  • Purchase an $800 card with a $98 bonus

  • Purchase a $200 card with an $18.88 bonus

  • The LNY gift card program was valid for 2 weeks.

We utilized our content

We produced an episode for our Halitube YouTube channel showing guests doing a walkthrough of the shopping centre and planning their makeovers and outfits for LNY. We also did a professional photo shoot and Behind-the-Scenes shots of the production. We wrote a complimentary Halitube’s WeChat social media platform, highlighting the brands, businesses, and key elements of the campaign.

We also featured giveaways featuring a COACH customized leather bag from COACH, products from M.A.C.

The Result


Halitube campaign deepens relationships with young Asians

This campaign made the young Asian community feel welcome and valued by one of the largest shopping centres the Maritimes.

Young Asian like to celebrate by shopping so three was a perfect alignment of values. In total, we sold $25,600 worth of gift certificates over a period of two weeks.

We got over 5K impressions and nearly 40 engagements on Halitube’s WeChat Official Account and YouTube.
