Halitube Promotes the Halifax Oyster Festival

To expand Oyster Festival to diverse communities

The Halifax Oyster Festival is Canada’s largest oyster festival. Taking place on the beautiful Halifax waterfront, it’s a unique gathering of oyster producers and heaven on earth for people who love eating oysters. The event has booths from oyster producers with oyster farmers on hand to offer tastings of their products. There are shucking demos, contests and live music each night.

The organizer The Coast reached out to Halitube to help it promote the event and reach out to new communities.

 

Design

We designed a full package for the Oyster Fest: from pre-event branding to in-person interactive activities, we got it all.

Production

We have produced two Halitube episodes to deliver a full experience to Oyster Fest’s potential clients.

Ticket Sales

We assisted The Coast with ticket sales to the Chinese community with our promo code.

What We Did


Halitube partners with The Coast

The Halitube team collaborated with the Oyster Festival to promote, brand, and sell tickets for the event in 2018 and 2019. 

Customers received a 15 percent discount with a unique promotional code from Halitube customers. They also received complimentary merchandise items, and food & beverage tickets. 

Halitube offered customers a free photo shoot, with their oyster shells, props, and of course, friends and families. All images were printed on-site, which customers took home as a souvenir.

  • The sales campaign started from a WeChat article, where we presented the oyster festival from the previous year (e.g. for sales in 2018, the video embedded was from 2017), along with the perks, and promo code.

  • We produced two Halitube episodes of the Oyster Festival 

  • We made ticket-sales posters

  • We generated more than 300 pictures at the photo booth

Content


We believe in the power of good content

In both 2017 and 2018, we documented our visit to the Halifax Oyster Festival, showcasing the potential experiences, introduction to oysters from different places around the Atlantic Ocean, food and beverage tasting and on-site performances.

Each complimentary WeChat article also listed the essential highlight content, and embed the episode from the previous year, to better encourage potential Oyster Festival customers to make their purchases.

The Result


We are pleased to shuck with you :)

  • We were pleased to attract a new diverse audience of Asian customers to the festival.

  • We were also pleased that the festival generated $8.4K in ticket sales in 2018 and 2019, 129 tickets were purchased tickets through Halitube over the 2 years, totalling sales revenues of $8400

  • Impressions on WeChat and YouTube views reached over 6500 times
